How poostit works

The shortcuts a tester wishes they'd known on day one.

The 60-second flow

  1. Type your email at /signin and click the link we send you. No password to pick, no invite code, no waiting list — if you're new, your account is created the moment you click the link. Signing up and signing in are the same box.
  2. Connect at least one platform under Connections. Sign in with each platform once — no keys, no copy-paste. Pinterest and Tumblr are open to everyone; see the next section for where the others stand.
  3. Drop into Calendar → tap New post. Pick platforms, upload an image (or skip if the platform allows text-only), type your copy, and either publish now or schedule for later.
  4. Scheduled posts fire automatically. Failed posts show a red chip with a one-line reason and a retry button.

What each platform supports

Pinterest

Open to everyone
  • One image per pin (no carousels).
  • Pick a board (and optional section) at compose time.
  • Title, description, link, alt text.
  • Stats: impressions, saves, pin clicks, outbound clicks.
  • Brand-new Pinterest connections post slowly during our setup period — ping us if you need higher throughput.

Tumblr

Open to everyone
  • Text, a single image, or several images stacked.
  • Tags are how Tumblr makes a post findable — add at least 3.
  • Pick which blog to post to (sideblogs work).
  • Stats: total notes (likes + reblogs combined).

Instagram

Meta testers only
  • Built and wired end to end, but we haven't cleared Meta's App Review yet.
  • Until they do, only accounts we've added as testers in the Meta dashboard can connect — everyone else gets turned away by Meta at the Instagram sign-in screen, before poostit ever sees it.
  • Want to be added? Email poostitapp@gmail.com with the Instagram account name.
  • Once connected: single image or carousel of up to 10 images.
  • Caption fits your title, description, and link in one.
  • PNG and WebP get converted to JPEG before upload.
  • Carousels: all slides get cropped to match the first image.
  • Per-post stats aren't wired yet.

Threads

Meta testers only
  • Same situation as Instagram: built, wired, and waiting on Meta's App Review.
  • Only accounts added as testers in the Meta dashboard can connect today — same list as Instagram, same address to ask: poostitapp@gmail.com.
  • Once connected: text-only, single image, or carousel up to 10 images.
  • Combined text is capped at 500 characters.
  • Per-post stats aren't wired yet.

LinkedIn

In the works
  • Written and wired on our side; waiting on LinkedIn to approve the app.
  • The card is visible in Connections but can't be connected yet — nothing to do until we flip it on.

Google Business

In the works
  • Written and wired on our side; waiting on Google to approve Business Profile API access.
  • Same as LinkedIn — visible, not connectable yet.

Errors you might see

  • “Your Pinterest (or Tumblr) connection expired.” Open Connections, disconnect, and reconnect. This rarely happens — most expirations renew silently in the background.
  • “Instagram (or Threads) hasn't approved publish access.” That's Meta, not us: the account isn't on our Meta tester list, and App Review hasn't cleared the app for the public yet. Email poostitapp@gmail.com and we'll add the account as a tester.
  • “You've hit the closed-testing limit of 31 posts this month.” Or its cousin, “each brand can post to that platform once a day.” Both are beta caps, not a paywall — see below. They reset on their own; there isn't anything to buy.
  • “That image is too big.” Keep uploads under 20MB. Most phone shots are fine after we re-encode them.
  • “Pinterest's daily limit.” Brand-new Pinterest connections are temporarily limited while we finish our setup. Wait 24 hours, or email us for a heads-up on the timing.
  • Click “show raw error” on any failed post for the underlying details — useful when you send us a bug report.

What it costs, what it caps

  • Free while it's in beta.Payments are switched off entirely — there's no card to add and no plan to pick. Paid plans come later, with plenty of warning.
  • 31 posts a month per account. Counted when a post leaves draft; resets on the 1st.
  • One post per brand, per platform, per day. Batch-scheduling a whole week still works — the cap is per target day, not per sitting.
  • Up to 5 brands on one account.
  • These are beta guardrails while we keep the load predictable, not a paywall. If one is genuinely in your way, email us.

Privacy + deletion

We hold sign-in tokens for your connected platforms, your drafts and scheduled/published posts, and the images you upload. Delete everything at /account/delete — instant, no email required. Full policy at /legal/privacy.

Found a bug? Have a feature idea?

Hit the floating feedback widget in the bottom-right of the app — it captures a screenshot you can annotate. Or email poostitapp@gmail.com. Both reach us; we read every submission.
